Some of you may have seen the free game, a5teroids, in our games section, and may have played it. In conjunction with Tristaph media we've given it a facelift and added some code improvements to the game, including a high score list. The game looks really sharp now thanks to Tristaph, and the PC, Mac, and Linux versions are all available for free! We're going to make all new graphics and most of the new code (some doesn't fit in, or we would make it all free) freely available in the Allegro 5 demo game, where a5teroids has lived for a few years now.
On top of that, we'll soon be seeing an iOS version in the iTunes App Store! The iOS version sports a new tilt control interface, as well as support for Joypad and the 60beat GamePad. More news on this front when it comes in (and this isn't vapourware, it has already been submitted to Apple.) For now, enjoy a5teroids for your desktop computer.
Update: Apple has rejected the game from the Mac App Store and we suspect they will do the same for the iOS version (due to Astroids/Atari copyright issues.) However, we're preparing the updates for Allegro 5 right now, and the desktop/laptop versions are still available here.

A kind gamer pointed out a major bug in Bobby version 1.6 (and possibly prior versions) on Windows. While playing the game in fullscreen mode, when you quit the game, your Windows taskbar will be missing. To get it back, you have to run the game again and switch to windowed mode, then quit with windowed mode active.
This patch fixes the issue in the full version. It should work whether you got the game from this site, or any of our distributors. Just point the patch program at the directory with Bobby.exe in it. A new Lite/Demo version will be on this site momentarily as well.
Apologies for the problem!

We now have a very simple subscriptions page where you can sign up for email "feeds". The link is at the bottom of each page (see image below.) For now the only feeds are update feeds for games we sell on this site, since we previously had no mechanism to alert direct download buyers of new versions. These feeds will be very low traffic so shouldn't disturb you much, but will let you know when your games have been updated and what new features are in the updates.
Even if you haven't bought any of our games, you're welcome to subscribe to the feeds. You may see something that tickles your fancy in one of the updates :).

New buyers (and old, see below) of games from our site will now have access to the serial numbers of their purchases directly from this site, instead of having to keep their order confirmation emails. When you make a purchase while logged into nooskewl.com, your orders will be tagged with your username and will display when you click the "Orders" link from the top right link bar (which only appears when you are logged in.) This is provided as a convenience and we recommend you keep your confirmation emails in a "saved messages" folder anyway. Anyone who has bought games from us in the past can contact us with their nooskewl.com user names and game serial numbers and we will manually link the two so you have access to the same information as new buyers. Happy Holidays!
